Flying Cross 1941
(Vliegerkruis 1941)

(Top left) Several forgeries have been produced. Some are from the same replica mold. If you hold this medal under a magnifying glass all sorts of irregular details emerge. The feathers of the albatross are crude, the cross on the crown is off center, the beak of the bird drops and most importantly the "korrels" inside the area of the cross are smears, not regular grains.

(Bottom left) Another forgery is more easy to discover. The knob is replaced by a ring and the reverse is very irregular. The medal is made of metal instead of silver.
