Medal issued to all Amsterdam voluntary homeguards who were mobilized during World War I. Instituted in 1923 for those who served in the period 4 august 1914 - 11 november 1918.

Bronze clasps can be worm on the ribbon (30*15 mm). There are 10 different versions with the text "Ter verdediging van de volksvrijheid <19xx-19xx>" (For the defense of the liberty of the people)
