The Royal Honorary Medal is an award for associations, foundations and institutions. The award was established in 1965 by Queen Juliana and is intended for associations and foundations at least 50 years of existence. Ceremony takes place only at the 50th anniversary or a multiple of 25 years while. The medal can be requested by the association itself to the local mayor. He sends the application to the Commissioner of the King who seek advice and make a proposal to the king.
